EPC and PIX QR Codes Are Now on QRSansar

Two New Payment QR Types: EPC (Europe) and PIX (Brazil)

QRSansar now supports two additional payment QR code standards, bringing the total to 21 QR code types — all free, all generated locally in your browser.

  • EPC QR Code — SEPA Credit Transfer for European bank apps
  • PIX QR Code — Brazil's instant payment system (BR Code)

EPC QR Code — SEPA Credit Transfer for Europe

The EPC QR code is the standard defined by the European Payments Council (EPC069-12 v3.1) for initiating SEPA Credit Transfers. It is widely supported by banking apps across Germany, Belgium, Austria, the Netherlands, France, Finland, and the rest of the Eurozone.

How It Works

Scanning an EPC QR code opens the payer's banking app with the transfer details pre-filled — beneficiary name, IBAN, amount (if set), and a payment reference. The payer reviews and approves with one tap. No manual entry, no copy-pasting IBANs.

What You Can Encode

  • Beneficiary Name — up to 70 characters
  • IBAN — the recipient's International Bank Account Number
  • BIC / SWIFT Code — optional in Version 002 for EEA IBANs; required in Version 001
  • Amount in EUR — leave blank for an open-amount QR where the payer fills in the sum
  • Remittance Reference — free-text payment note up to 140 characters (invoice numbers, order IDs, donor messages)
  • Purpose Code — optional 4-character ISO 20022 code (e.g. CHAR for charity, GDDS for goods, SALA for salary)
  • Note to Originator — optional message from beneficiary to payer

Payload Format

The EPC QR stores a plain-text payload with one field per line. A minimal published QR looks like:

BCD
002
1
SCT

Red Cross of Belgium
BE72000000001616

CHAR

Urgency fund

The generator handles all formatting, version selection, and character-set encoding automatically.

Who Is It For?

  • Freelancers and consultants — embed a QR on your invoice so clients scan and pay in seconds
  • NGOs and charities — open-amount donation QR codes for events and campaigns
  • E-commerce — offer SEPA bank transfer without a payment gateway
  • Landlords — send rent requests with amount and reference pre-filled

PIX QR Code — Brazil's Instant Payment System

PIX is Brazil's instant payment infrastructure, operated by the Banco Central do Brasil (BCB). It works 24/7, settles in seconds, and is accepted by every licensed Brazilian bank and fintech — Nubank, Itaú, Bradesco, Caixa, PicPay, Mercado Pago, and hundreds more.

PIX QR codes follow the BR Code standard, which is built on the EMVCo Merchant-Presented Mode (MPM) specification. Data is encoded as Tag-Length-Value (TLV) pairs with a CRC-16/CCITT-FALSE checksum appended to guarantee integrity.

What You Can Encode

  • PIX Key — phone number (+5511999999999), CPF/CNPJ, email, or random EVP UUID
  • Beneficiary Name — up to 25 characters (displayed in the payer's app)
  • Merchant City — up to 15 characters
  • Amount in BRL — optional; leave blank for an open-amount QR
  • Payment Description — optional context for the payer, up to 72 characters
  • TXID — transaction ID for reconciliation; defaults to *** for static open QRs
  • Postal Code — optional

Static vs. Dynamic PIX

QRSansar generates static PIX QR codes. A static QR is self-contained — all data is embedded in the QR string itself, no server is required, and the same QR can be reused indefinitely.

Dynamic PIX QR codes (COB and COBV) contain a PSP-hosted URL fetched at scan time and require a bank or PSP API integration.

Who Is It For?

  • Retail shops and restaurants — display a static PIX QR at the counter for instant payments
  • Street vendors and food stalls — laminate a QR card; customers scan and enter any amount
  • Freelancers — attach a per-invoice QR with the exact total and order reference
  • NGOs and donation campaigns — collect PIX donations at events without cash handling
  • Online sellers — share a QR link in WhatsApp order confirmations
