Static QR Codes Are Trivially Cloned — and Fakes Are Destroying Your Brand

The global trade in counterfeit goods exceeded $4.5 trillion in 2023. A standard QR code printed on packaging is a photograph — anyone with a QR scanner and a printer can replicate it at industrial scale. When a consumer scans a fake product and gets a valid-looking page, your brand takes the hit: warranty disputes, social media complaints, regulatory exposure, and long-term trust erosion. The problem is not that counterfeiters are sophisticated — it's that most brands give them nothing to defeat.

Serialized, Tokenized QR — Unique Per Physical Unit

QRSansar generates a cryptographically unique token for every individual unit during production. Each QR encodes a one-time verification URL. When a consumer scans it, our system checks the token signature, the scan sequence, and the GPS context. A genuine first scan from the expected market returns a verified product page. A second scan of the same token — or a scan from an unexpected geography — triggers an instant alert and shows the consumer a clear warning.

Cryptographic Token per Unit

Each QR is signed with a unique token generated at production time. Copying the QR image does not copy the token validity.

GPS Anomaly Detection

If a QR registered to a European retailer is suddenly scanned from a South-East Asian market, the system flags it immediately.

Scan-Count Monitoring

Legitimate products are scanned a bounded number of times. Sudden spikes signal a cloned batch — and trigger automated alerts to your team.

Capabilities Designed for Enterprise Operations

First-Scan Verification Logic Consumer trust signal built-in

The system records the very first scan of each unit — time, location, device. Subsequent scans see a 'previously activated' notice. Consumers know instantly if a product was opened before purchase.

Counterfeit Hotspot Map

Real-time dashboard shows geographic scan anomalies — where your cloned codes are appearing and at what volume. Export to PDF for legal and enforcement teams.

Automated Brand Alerts

Set thresholds: if any single token is scanned more than N times, or from more than M countries, your team gets an email + webhook notification within seconds.

Built for Enterprise Product Authentication

Token Signing — Not Just Encryption

Each QR token is HMAC-signed at generation time. Verification is performed server-side on every scan — no client-side secrets that can be reverse-engineered.

Verification in <100ms

The token check, GPS analysis, and scan-count query complete in under 100ms at the edge. Your consumer sees 'Verified ✓' before they've finished reading the label.

Court-Admissible Scan Logs

Every scan event — timestamp, IP, GPS, device fingerprint — is written to an immutable log. IP rights enforcement teams get the evidence chain they need.

How to Set Up QRSansar for Product Authentication

  1. Generate a Serialized Token Batch

Define your production run size in the QRSansar Enterprise dashboard. The system generates a unique, signed QR token for every unit — exportable as a ZIP of individual QR files or a print-ready sheet.

  2. Integrate into Packaging Production

Supply QR image files to your packaging printer. Each unit gets a physically unique QR — there is no batch QR that can be mass-copied.

  3. Set Your Alert Thresholds

Configure scan-count limits, allowed geographies, and notification channels (email, Slack, webhook) from the brand protection dashboard.

  4. Monitor the Hotspot Map

Review real-time scan anomaly maps. Export incident reports for your legal and brand protection teams with a single click.
