Choose Your Mode
App Store (iOS)
Links directly to your Apple App Store listing. Best when your audience is primarily iPhone and iPad users.
Google Play (Android)
Links directly to your Google Play listing. Best for Android-first or Android-only apps.
Smart Link
One QR, two destinations. iOS users go to the App Store; Android users go to Google Play. Desktop visitors see a download page with both badges.
How It Works
Select a Store
Pick App Store (iOS), Google Play (Android), or Smart Link (both platforms) from the selector above the generator. Each mode shows the right URL fields for your choice.
Paste Your App URL
Copy the link to your app listing from the App Store or Play Store and paste it in. For Smart Link, you'll paste one URL per platform. You can find the URL in your developer console or by searching for your app on the store and copying the address bar.
Customize and Download
Add your app icon as a logo, match colors to your brand, and pick a frame with "Download Our App" as a call to action. Download as PNG for digital or SVG/PDF for print-ready output.
Popular Use Cases
Product Packaging
Print on your box, label, or insert card. Customers who just bought your product can download the companion app in seconds, without searching the store manually.
Print Advertising
Flyers, magazine ads, and direct mail can't carry clickable links. A QR code bridges print and download. Use UTM parameters to track which placement drives the most installs.
In-Store and Retail Signage
Shelf talkers, point-of-sale displays, and checkout counters. Shoppers can download your loyalty or rewards app on the spot while they're already engaged with your brand.
Event Booths and Conferences
Feature the QR code on your booth backdrop and handout cards. Attendees who stop by can install your app right away instead of forgetting about it later.
Business Cards and Stationery
If your app is central to your product, put the download QR code on your cards. Every piece of paper becomes a download channel.
Restaurants and Delivery
Add your ordering app QR code to table tents and takeout bags. One scan turns a first-time visitor into a repeat customer through the app.
Tips for Best Results
- Add a frame with a call to action. "Download Our App" or "Scan to Install" tells people exactly what will happen. Labeled QR codes get significantly more scans than unlabeled ones.
- Use your app icon as the center logo. The generator raises error correction automatically when you add a logo, so the QR code stays scannable. Keep the logo to about 20% of the code area.
- Have both iOS and Android users? Use the Smart Link mode so one QR sends each person to the right store.
- Test before printing. Scan from both an iPhone and an Android phone. Make sure the store page loads and your app listing appears correctly in each region.
- Use SVG or PDF for print. These formats are resolution-independent and stay sharp at any size. PNG is fine for digital placements.
- Minimum print size: 2 cm for close-range use (business cards). For posters or signage scanned from a few meters away, go 5 cm or larger.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can one QR code work for both iOS and Android users?
Not with a simple static QR code that links to one store URL. Apple App Store links don't work on Android and vice versa. The solution is our Smart Link mode, which creates a dynamic QR that detects the user's device and redirects to the correct store automatically. Desktop visitors see a landing page with both download buttons.
Where do I find my app's store URL?
For the Apple App Store, search for your app in a browser, open the listing, and copy the URL from the address bar. It looks like: https://apps.apple.com/app/your-app-name/id123456789. For Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.your.app. You can also find both links in your Apple App Store Connect or Google Play Console developer account.
Can I track how many people download the app from the QR code?
Yes, two ways. First, append UTM parameters to your store URL before generating (e.g., ?utm_source=flyer&utm_medium=qr). The App Store and Google Play consoles can report installs by campaign. Second, use our Smart Link (Dynamic QR), which gives you scan-count analytics broken down by device and country directly in the QRSansar dashboard.
Does the QR code still work after I update my app?
Yes. The QR code links to your app's store listing page, not a specific version. The listing always shows the current release. The only situation that would break the QR code is if you change the app's URL itself (for example, unpublishing or changing its bundle ID / package name).
Is this free to use?
The basic QR code generator is completely free. No account, no watermarks, no limits on static QR codes. The Smart Link feature (with device detection and scan analytics) requires saving as a Dynamic QR, which needs a free account. Free accounts get 2 dynamic QR codes; premium accounts get unlimited.
