Measure and brand

Track scans and read your analytics

Where and when your codes were scanned, and what to do about what you see.

What is recorded

Every scan of a dynamic code is counted before the redirect happens. For each scan QRSansar records the time, the approximate country, and the kind of device. Static codes cannot be measured at all, by anyone: there is nothing in the middle to do the counting.

Reading it honestly

  • A burst on day one, then nothing. Normal. Printed codes get scanned when someone first sees them.
  • Scans from a country you are not in. Usually a bot or a link preview, not a customer.
  • Zero scans. Before concluding the campaign failed, scan it yourself. A code nobody can scan and a code nobody wants look identical in the numbers.

What to change

The number worth moving is not scans, it is what happens after the scan. If people scan and leave, the destination is the problem, not the code. Point a dynamic code at a page built for a phone and re-measure; the code does not need to be reprinted for you to test a different landing page, which is the whole advantage of dynamic.
